The Finance department of the Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is responsible for the financial health of DTCM. To ensure that the department implements the requirements of the Government of Dubai’s Law, the Finance department has put in place both its policy and procedures on Revenue, Budget, and Expenditure.

The purpose of this department is to ensure that DTCM has in place procedures that will establish an effective control system for all of DTCM, including the overseas offices that ensure that all revenues are collected and accounted for, spending is controlled against budget, and that all expenditure can be supported by auditable documentation.

The department is backed by a highly dedicated team dealing with revenue, budget, and expenditure or asset management and who are fully aware of the procedures.

The Finance department has been successful in the following:

• It has managed to cover a substantial part of the DTCM budgeted expenses from the DTCM's annual revenue
• It has an effective pre-authorization system in place to monitor the budgets of all the departments.
• It manages the finances of all the 18 overseas offices.

In addition, the department ensures that all its suppliers are paid within the least possible time.

The Information Technology (IT) department, part of the Administration and Finance Division, is a supporting section whose main responsibility is to harness the power of IT for the DTCM.

The IT staff is responsible for various support and development functions which include:

• Procure, install and maintain the IT infrastructure in the DTCM's Head Office and Dubai Sites. Also provide IT know-how and expertise for equipping the DTCM's Overseas Offices.
• Ensure that the electronic presence of the DTCM is maintained through regular upkeep of the software and hardware that broadcast the Department's presence on the Internet.
• Carry out continuous research on new and upcoming IT related technologies to ensure that the Department is always ahead in the IT race and maintains pace with Dubai's e-Government initiatives.
• Provide user support and assistance to ensure that staff can carry out their designated activities efficiently.
• Provide electronic security to ensure that no data is lost either through malicious activities or inadvertently.
• Provide analysis of processes to recommend the automation of various activities.

The DTCM Library is a part of the Archive and Library section. The DTCM Library has been established recently and is still expanding.

The DTCM Library envisions the provision of information and books for all employees in their field of work in order to increase their productivity in their professional and personal activities.

The DTCM Library maintains books in Arabic and English and contains Directories, Annual Reports, Catalogues, Magazines and all legislations and decisions released from the government of Dubai, and Audio visual material.

• General Books

Services of Library:

The DTCM Library offers a borrowing service to all DTCM Employees in Dubai. It offers extensions to the lending period, based on demand and the reader’s needs.

All staffs are informed of any new arrivals into the library through a broadcast email.

The DTCM Library has established memberships with other libraries like the Dubai Public Library.
