The Media Relations section is responsible for the dissemination of information to the media to create awareness about every aspect of Dubai, but with more emphasis on its business dynamism and enterprise and an all-appealing, year-round destination.
Its major responsibility is to prepare Press releases and features for publications. It assists media in researching and developing story ideas on tourism and commerce marketing-related topics.
It works to develop means by which news and information about Dubai can be brought into the public domain through the media.
It is also responsible for the communication of the department’s corporate aims and objectives, exhibitions, road shows, events, missions and awards.
It organizes Press conferences, when deemed necessary, and maintains a proactive relation with the local, regional and international media professionals.
Its objective is to promote and create awareness of Dubai and its tourism and commercial attractions by projecting a clear, consistent and persuasive message to target audience internationally and regionally.
The carefully targeted international promotion and marketing plans also involve close collaboration and co-ordination with other DTCM’s department and sections, its network of 14 overseas of offices and the public and private sector organizations with the sole aim of promoting Dubai.
The Media Relations section co-ordinates with PR agencies as well as the Media Relations sections in the pubic sector organizations to convey a unified message about the developments in the emirate.
Finally, the Media Relations publishes newsletters and oversees other internal communication requirements.
