The Media and Advertising Department plays an important role in the Dubai, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, over all global marketing strategy for the promotion of Dubai as a major tourism destination, commercial hub and MICE destination.
Media and Advertising Department, primary task is to promote and create awareness of Dubai and it’s Tourism and Commercial attractions by projecting a clear, consistent and persistent message to the public as well as the trade associates regionally and globally. This is achieved in collaboration with DTCM’s overseas offices, spread across world wide and creates innovative marketing and media campaigns strategically targeted and released in International and Regional markets. It involves other divisions within the Head office, apart from the overseas offices and marketing communication agencies as well as other public and private agents within and outside the hospitality industry in the emirate.
The DTCM produces a comprehensive range of periodicals and manuals to promote Dubai’s infrastructure and facilities both for tourists and business partners available in more than 12 languages.
Potential videos and TVC commercials for promoting Tourism, Commerce and MICE are produced and released for supporting the respective marketing campaign.
Media and Advertising Department has an image library with an extensive collection of quality images for use by various media, journalists and publications to add value to their special features, articles, editorials by including good quality pictures showcasing Dubai.
Media and Advertising Department uses different marketing tools to promote Dubai’s Tourism and Commerce facilities. DTCM may decide to sponsor some events/promotions in a specific market or a country or it may be suggested to go in for Joint Marketing of the city and its offering in tie-up with Tour Operators, Travel Agents, Hotels, Airlines or others.
The marketing mix of DTCM-Dubai comprises of very strong, strategic placement of media campaigns in print, electronic and outdoor, which reaches the target audiences that helps to achieve the core marketing objective. The media vehicle, language and the creative are all tailor made to suit that market and also reflects the same image of the publication.
Apart from the coordination of all marketing communications, production and printing of the brochures, collaterals, display material, publishing of manuals, Media and Advertising department also supports and helps all the other departments such as Dubai Convention Bureau, Events, Missions, Training Solutions, Cruise Terminal as well as all the Overseas offices in preparing and executing their campaign support materials.
