Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) reviewed the arrangements for holding GCC Tourism workshop, hosted by the Government tourism body in Dubai which would be attended by 224 decision makers of tourism sector of the region and representatives of media as well as 40 co-participants.

This is the first time that this workshop is being held in Dubai instead of any of other GCC country. The representatives of the Co-participants in the pre-workshop meeting were informed that the decision to this effect was made to enable maximum number of co-participants to interact with their counterparts from other GCC countries because DTCM had been imposing a sealing on the number of co-participants in the past to take part in such workshop held in the region.

Mr. Saleh Al Geziry, Director Overseas Promotions reviewed and discussed different arrangements for the forthcoming event and expressed satisfaction over the plan of the workshop.

This workshop would provide an opportunity to the tour operators of the GCC market to know the latest developments, improvements in the facilities and infrastructure and current attractions of Dubai besides having some insights into the upcoming events and attractions, he said.

Director DTCM Saudi Arabia offices, Mr. Ali Al Zayat and Talal Al Swaidi, senior executive Overseas Promotion were also present in the meeting which held this morning.

The meeting was informed that the GCC market was very important for the Dubai and DTCM as the number of tourists from this region was gradually increasing and would help promote sustainable regional tourism.
