Training Solutions is the external training arm of the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai. Training Solutions is DTCM’s specific commitment to service excellence, and to ensure that Dubai remains at the cutting edge. Training Solutions provides specific training solutions for the tourism and hospitality sectors to ensure that Dubai’s tourism industry continues its world-class development with world-class people involved at all levels.

Training Solutions’ programs are unique and different from any other training delivered by existing bodies in Dubai. Unique because Training Solutions takes the best tools and learning of the tourism and hospitality sectors and ensures relevance to the marketplace at every stage. Emphasis is placed on a vocational ‘hands-on’ approach to learning, making participants more effective and efficient within the workplace.

Training Solutions ensures that the information disseminated is factual and the same high standards are maintained across the board.

Training Solutions also supports DTCM in its strategy to foster better understanding of projects under development in Dubai and convey the right message to overseas tour operators, investors and the general public.

To achieve this our objective is to deliver industry specific, Dubai specific, cost effective training and development solutions to ensure a competent, trained and efficient workforce throughout the industry in Dubai. We aim to continuously invest in the development of this workforce, challenge complacency and improve expertise by creating an enthusiasm for personal improvement, a passion for the industry and a commitment to life-long learning.

As the result of considerable preliminary research and training needs analysis with the Dubai travel industry, an intensive study concluded that industry-based ‘Dubai specific’ training is the key to attaining and maintaining service excellence. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) established Training Solutions in January 2001 as a centre of excellence to meet the expanding need for an authoritative source to provide accurate, up-to-date and balanced information to support the tourism & hospitality sectors in Dubai.

Infrastructure alone is not enough to sustain Dubai’s burgeoning reputation as a preferred destination for business, incentive and leisure travellers. We must excel in our service delivery. Initially the mandate was to put in place core training strategies to assist officials in mapping out their training process, to specifically write specialist course material exclusively for the Dubai market to compliment existing training programs and to offer multi-track training solutions for the industry’s present and future needs. These courses were then piloted and further refined during 2001.

Training Solutions operated out of the Head Offices of DTCM until 2002 when state-of-the-art training facilities became available at the Port Rashid Dubai Cruise Terminal. After the move to Port Rashid Dubai Cruise Terminal the Training Solutions Team were able to establish well defined processes which ensure delivery of the world-class Courses envisaged.
